He Knows Your Name by Paige Allen Book Review

He Knows Your Name by Paige Allen is a beautifully written, deeply personal, and profoundly moving faith filled journey that I resonated deeply with. Paige's vulnerability and honesty creates a sense of connection and community, making it feel like a warm conversation over coffee with a close friend is taking place. Heartfelt and uplifting, I give this book five stars.

This book tackles themes of rejection, relationships, prayer, faith, and nameless women of the Bible….. offering a refreshing perspective on the struggles and topics women can relate to. The author's use of symbolism, such as the parallel between the woman who bled for 12 years (you can find her story in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, & Luke) and the 12-year-old girl (Luke 8:40-44), is awe-inspiring and thought-provoking. I would love to say I caught those similarities on my own while reading the Bible….but I did not. Thank you for pointing this out Paige!

*For better context, here is that scripture - “40 Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years,[a] but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.” Luke 8:40-44

What struck me most was Paige's boldness in sharing her personal struggles and doubts with her readers. The raw emotion and sincerity on being bold in prayers, had me in tears. The message of identity and self-worth, as seen in quotes like "You are a child, a daughter, and when this identity takes root, it has the power to change everything", is both comforting and empowering.

The storytelling is engaging, and anecdotes like the barking 4-year-old (Ch 4) story stopped me in my tracks, forcing me to reflect on my own defensive tendencies with God. The chapter about Wanda's faith (Ch 7) sent shivers down my spine, leaving me wanting to emulate that kind of trust in our Heavenly Father.

Paige’s willingness to share her experiences, creates a sense of solidarity with readers who may be struggling with similar issues. The book is a testament to the power of faith and God's provision..

Overall, this book is a must-read for anyone seeking a deeper connection with God. It's a heartwarming, tear-jerking, and inspiring journey that will leave you feeling seen, heard, and uplifted. My biggest takeaway is a statement that has been so powerful in my day to day life since reading this book, “God, I believe YOU.” I have felt nameless many times over throughout my life……what a beautiful realization to know that the Creator, my Heavenly Father, sees me and knows my name.
